Keeping busy

OK, what are you all doing to keep yourselves busy during this isolation thing?

For me, I have started getting the greenhouse ready over the last few days as well as managed to burn the remains of the old shed which took 5 days using one of those incinerator dustbins. And managed to planta few pots of seeds ready for the veg patch and some flowers for the garden I still have some more to do yet.

I also managed to get a raspberry bed weeded today as well as start a bowl may take a couple of days to complete it as it is not just a case of turning it pictures when completed if it does not end up in the bin. And I have enough turning blanks to last at least 6 months to that is me sorted

I’ve been tidying the workshop and improving storage etc. It’s never been so tidy and I’m not finished yet! Also cooking quite a bit including baking our own bread.

Simple answer is No but the garden needs doing as well as the veg patch which is a normal job for this time of year

Tossed up this morning hospital or lie in for another two hours.Worked out in my favour then cleaning up a tinyb corner in the big worksop I found a near new compressor,two refrig persons vac doovers they use to clear frig lines or penturners vac pumps of reknown, a three wheeler bandsaw and sundry thought lost items,valuable morning .

Mowed the grass at the weekend. First time this year because it's been so bloody wet. Consequently it was very long and took ages. Normally I'd be begrudging the extra time it took, but hey, what else was I going to do?

Been in the second wood store today to finish the tidying up and as an exercise thought I would have a count up to see if I did actually have enough to last the isolation, bowl blanks I lost count at 145, not even looked how many in the re built store. Spindle blanks I have not even bothered with yet as spent some time on the piece I am working on as well as dug some of the veg patch. So not much done today

The continuing effort to sort my workshop progresses slowly. I know where my lathe is at any rate. I might be able to lay my hands on a pen kit if I look hard enough, but I think I may need to retrain, it's been so long. I think I will be seriously de-skilled by now.

Likewise. I even mowed the neighbours one. No hurry. Good to see the sky without condensation trails like scars.

I did throw stuff away though and this is the result tonight. It's been burning for 90 minutes, was twice this size at it's hottest and will probably still be alight after breakfast tomorrow.

We support the emergency services so are classed as key workers.
Its been a really hard few weeks and i can say i could do with a rest and spending some time at home.

Wallowing in wood is catching with up to 12 sheds and literally tons of it a testament to the hunt over 40 yrs..Desperate circumstances here at the moment demand attention to mere survival.It is a total offence of major proportions to burn anything outside ,this in spite of the worst pollution a short while back with record breaking atmospheres from the fires.Disposing of rubbish is by weight and totally expensive,an old mattress 80 dollars tip fee.Our population is around 400,000.Yesterday 36 spanners in one bucket with 30 to empty and put away.For me balance is crucial so I have to sit and sort slide and pack away.

We go into a 3 week shutdown today.
Have to stay at home with very restricted movement to get supplies.
As I cannot get to customers or look for work decided to make a few pens.
Got a blank out of the store. Label says "Br???? Mallee Burl".
Any idea what the smudged letters are?
Hard as hell but looks like it will make a nice pen.
