I have just measured my mandrels they are 6.14, 6.14 and 6.17 the hole in the Omega bushes is 6.35 I don't know which mandrel the were made for but they are the sloppiest fit bushes I have got.

Sorry, I should have measure all the omega's bushes which I have now done and two are 6.35 and two are 6.39.

Peter
I will get some more made up with a finer tolerance.

I suppose that is a problem with no standard for the mandrels, mine are two from Axminster 1 being the deluxe model and another from Timberbits the adjustable model, then there is the rotur which I don't have so don't know the measurement.

My mandrel came from Penkitsuk and the bushes went onto the mandrel no problem. However, I had a small problem with the bushes for the cap end. I had to hold one in the Chuck and then touch the part that goes into the brass tube to try make it a shade smaller as I couldn't get them to slip into the brass tube without sticking part way in. I got them to go in though so it's all good.

I just tried mine in the tubes and had to remove the top ones with transfer punches they were that tight.
Haven't put them on a mandrel as I won't be using them.

I will hopefully get to the bottom of the bushings issue tomorrow. Seems to be a few people with tight fit of the larger bushings and one small bushings out of line. I will make sure these issues are rectified as soon as possible.

What tolerance did you give the eingnering company as you might find if you did not give them one it will be to 0.1 mm which when It comes to a fit is no good I would say you should be at around 0.05 mm tolerance at the max
