The Myford ML8 is an old lathe and in my opinion a good well built work horse.
There are still many fine examples of this machine around which can be picked up at reasonable prices without having to do a restoration job.

MYFORD ML 8 WOODTURNING LATHE WITH CHISELS | eBay

Just two current auctions of early original machines introduced to market shortly after WW2 , can be dated by their colour, first being the beige then changing to green, blue last was silver, I could be be wrong but something like that. I did know when I was keen on them as a lad.
The add ons do come up frequently on ebay and can be collected at reasonable cost.
I have done a few in the past but now have other projects and trying to reduce footprint is a major issue for me.

Lots of goodly ML8 info here init?

I just looked at the link above and one of us is wrong with the colour scheme and I ain't gonna argue with the experts.
There definitly was a blue version which they don't mention, I know I am right with the colours cos I have had them all but can't date them like I used to.
