Nautilus shells from wood

Just some other pieces I have indulged in. These are made from pieces of spalted beech wood. They can take up to three/four days to make. I have three to date, two spalted beech and one made from pine wood. What do you all think?

I remember seeing a demo by a pro turner, can't remember who it was, but yours is just as nice if not better, it's a real piece of art, have you got a photo from the other side?

Wow thats what I think real special timber used heightens the impact as a visual piece it is like indelible pencil meant to last a long time.

I learnt how to make these Shells from YouTube videos by Steve Garrison who lives in the USA. By using scroll saws, band saw and other instruments of torture, I make up 30 or so pieces of wood arcs, all following one another.
