The new bandsaw and what I also did this weekend

Well after much thinking and comparing I finally went for the Axminster.

and so, because I could, I made myself a pen (I mean that I make quite a few but they are always sold elsewhere so this time I decided to play with the new band saw and make one for me) hence the photo isn't excellent its in my workshop. Its in Black Maire and Wenge, no finish just smooth wood like they do in Laguiole.

Then as the builders had mainly finished the pool house they left a bit of the centre roof beam so I thought it wood make a good vase . Mind you I have only got as far as roughing out so far.

So thanks all for all the bandsaw advice it proved useful in the end.:winking:

Pleased you've got tha Axl. I hope you are happy with it. I bought the small Axi bandsaw in 2006 & it has served me well. I did buy a new fence but apart from that it's been ok.

Now that I are a granddad, I have to provide shade for the grandchildren, since we can get up to 42 degrees here, so I repaired an old building where they used to make pigswill which was made of breeze block, sadly on the first attempt to repair it, it fell down so I had to rebuild it!! :winking: (sorry this time I got a builder in to rebuild it, the house I did myself).

Only the inside rendering and tiling to go. I suppose I could put a pool table in it!!

Mind you we can only do this because property and land here is cheap; the whole place cost less than a 3 bed terraced in UK (but I spent 10 years rebuilding it at weekends!!)
