I don't think the picture quality helps judge the casting to be fair? I hope you get it sorted Robbie, up to now you haven't had any luck in your new hobby my friend ..
I agree Jim, it's very difficult to judge overall quality from the video. It wasnt easy to get a video from within the garage. Other than the hiccup with the spindle I was very pleased with the whole thing.
With a quality dead centre in the head stock it will become apparent a shoulder on a shaft is in sufficient, then another dead centre in the tailstock slide the tailstock to close the gap then winding the the two with a fine feeler guage between the points deflection in any direction is a clue where to check next.
