I have a cheap chinese 115 pce drill set, 3 letter drills are the same size, the metric one are a combination of metric and imperial and somthing else.:vangry::vangry:

If I want a better fit I always measure the tube and then find the best drill bit by measuring rather than relying on the stated size.

I suspect the villagers will be out with pitchforks soon, but I use a 12mm metric and get a lovely smooth push fit of the top tube. Just enough gap for a bit of epoxy to bite.

Heathen, Philistine, you should be burnt at the stake, preferably slowly.

Do Sorby do a pitchfork jig for a tormek?

We shall burn down ye haystack in the night, ye non-believer. :ave_it:

Seriously however, in this instance, 12mm is so close to 15/32 as to be barely noticeable.

0.4724" - 0.4686" = 0.0037" (about 4/100ths of an inch or 1/10th of a millimeter)

I prefer the traditional method, the water cooled grindstone outside the blacksmiths shop hand turned by the village idiot.
