Chas and Brian are correct it came from a plant like this Broom (Cytisus is its botanical name), the word handle never came into it. I was going to jump in earlier but I thought I'd let it run, someone was bound to get it right. Never thought anyone would think of a brush stale. :whistling: :rolling:

I'm a plonker. I really thought it was from a broom handle.

Me as well :goesred: Good job I'm already a fully paid up member of the club :ciggrin:

I have seen ( and have in my stockpile ) some hardwood broom handles that are interesting though. It's the modern ones that are featureless.

Lofty our old Broom bush at home was a curse every year when it came into flower the worst case of Hay fever every time so glad it made such a beaut pen to me it is a standout.
