Well done Gary! - shiny, new smell of neat oil - bet you've never been off it since you set it up ( I was never off my Charnwood once it arrived in May ) Cheers & Happy Turning :thumbs:

Gary, if you have any machine wax go over the whole lathe with it and then polish off. It will help to stop spilt finishes etc from spoiling the paintwork. :winking:

And make sure the top of the tool rest is nice and smooth, they sometimes aren’t. Just go over it lightly with a file if it’s not very smooth.

I nearly gave it a spray of dry anti friction PTFE, Spray it on then wipe it off, it leaves a very fine film and keeps any rusting at bay.

I don't have any machine wax unfortunately but will put it on my shopping list :ciggrin:

Translated into our peso that is one hellova price to pay,

You're not wrong there, the old begging bowl was worked to it's limits, will take appx 3 months to repay everyone :rolling:

From the little I have used it, I have to say it was definitely one of my better buys :banana::banana:
