For me it's the ones in the pic wooden maple or sycamore if you can get it but a light wood for pyrographing (not ash, not good for burning) for a single pen. To be honest finished boxes are not a problem as I can sand the finish off the top of the box for burning so either are fine. If you can tell the dimensions from the pic that's the sort of size I'd want. There are bigger one pen boxes but they're not as nice. Turners sell them for £4.25 each which is too much really , pushes the price I have to charge up
