A great idea. I must have at half a dozen pewter tankards stashed away somewhere. How did you melt them down.

I cut the pewter into inch size pieces then formed a pouring spout on a bean tin and put it on a camping stove outside - It has a very low melting point so only takes a few minutes.
The tankards were about twenty year old so probably didn't contain that much lead but you can never be sure so wear a mask and dont breath in the fumes although there's not that much. - This is the first time i've made a pen it turns like butter - I normally make pendents from it and router a pattern in the mold.
