So last year I made a river table for my son and I have quite a lot of resin left over

would I be able to use the resin to make some blanks with out a pressure pot and can you thread polyester

I'm not going to make any blanks until the weather warms up anyway

What kind of resin is it?

I use glasscast for pen blanks without a pressure pot no problems.

Depending on the cure time of the epoxy you should be ok, as epoxy usually takes around a day to set, allowing the bubbles to come out, but what depth is it supposed to be poured to?

The other is a polyester resin, which (from memory) I think you should also be ok with, but they only sure way to know is to do a small test.

However, I’m assuming you didn’t do the river table under pressure, so we’re there any bubbles in that? If not then you should be good!

Be careful with both though, use a very well ventilated area, neither are particularly pleasant chemicals to be using indoors where you spend a lot of time.

Don't bother trying to use the polyester stuff for your custom pens James, in any area of the pen that needs to hold a thread - it's great for kit pen blanks but it's too brittle for threading.
