Well having been inspired by Vics polymer clay pen the other day I thought :thinks:

So, off to Hobbycraft and a few quid lighter we have some polymer clay and no idea :funny:

Lot's of Youtube later and the first flower cane is made. Applied to a Sierra tube and baked.

Small amount of turning, turns like butter, a CA finish and

Voila !

Hobbycraft sell it, or search for polymer clay there's a load of online shops do it.

Ceramic tile to work on (or glass), sharp scalpel type modelling knife, pasta machine is ideal but a rolling pin (ceramic) will do, your oven and that's it.

Apart from a bit of patience.

Would I be right in thinking, having seen the packs of clay on the Hobbycraft website, that you have to roll out the colours you want to use then cut out the shapes you want and meld them together sort of? It's got to be quite thick I presume to be enough to turn down to the thickness required for the pen? And do you wrap the clay around the brass tube before it's baked in the oven? And what sort of time and what temperature does it need to be baked for and at?
Sorry for all the questions I just trying to get my head around this.

Ray have a look on youtube about making millifiori canes it would take longer to explain than for you to watch then you can decide to make your own canes or buy them.
