Thanks for the comments guys .. :bwink:

Here is how i treat the wood so it shows its colour .. Like most has seen or said, when turning, this wood does go brownish, but after it has been shaped i put it out in the garden until the purple is clear to see. Give it one coat of sanding sealer and leave to dry, these have been left for over a week before putting the finish on, do not be too liberal with any of the choices of finish you use a very small amount is sufficient ..

Jim,
I have quite a bit of purpleheart that I got a few years ago.
I was a beautiful deep purple when I got it but now has dulled a little.
When I turn and finish it, it's quite brown.
When you say 'out in the garden' would indoors in the sunlight be OK? (It's very cold outside)
Do you finish sand, place in the sunlight untill purple again, and then apply ca/wax/polish?
I have tried many different ways, but all of them were done after the ca/wax/polish processes
and didn't work anywhere as well as I see in your photos.
