Used to be a dab hand with an electric glass engraver , that was 30 years ago though,
Hopefully will have plenty of time to practice , will post some pics , if I think they are worthy of seeing,
otherwise will give an honest review of the machine..

Great news , my order from TB arrived within a week via TNT, No hidden charges yet,
Bad News , the day after ordering was rushed into hospital and spent 2 weeks in intensive care following emergency bowel surgery. Came home tonight.
Turning off limits for a few weeks, however I have a lot of time on my hands over the next few weeks and a new Peter Childs pyrography machine my missus give me as an early xmas present., hope to get back on the CL3 before going back to work though.

Wishing you a Speedy recovery Johnny.
Take it easy....

Just had a little practice on the missus wooden cooking utensils, I must say having used only solid tipped pyrography machines in the past this is the dogs B******** ,
This peter Childs pyrography machine is awesome, so light to use quick to heat up and cool down and glides through the wood without any pressure at all, does not follow grain this is like driving a Ferrari after driving a metro all your life, cant wait to try out some detailed patterned work on bowls, etc and xmas gifts,
I think I will purchase another pen / handpiece to alow using detailed and shading tools without having to change tips all the time,
My avenues are opening to diversify my woodturning with detailed scrimshaw/Celtic knotwork style carvings on my pens and bowls etc.
excellent piece of kit.
Sorry to hear you have not been well, hope you get back to it soon.

Let us know how the pyrography machine goes, I looked at one of Peter Childs unit so keep us posted to let us know he low down..

I have been using the same one from Peter Childs and must agree it is a wonderful bit of kit with full heat control and a full range of tips and the option of extra pen irons

I saw them a while ago, my dad had a Janik one that I was not that impressed with to be honest, my brother in law had that and I don't think he is that impressed with it.

It's a must buy tho... I will have make an application...
