Hi, Bob,

Well, what you say is a real eye-opener. I agree with your retailing them at £25.00 which is a fair price but as for those other prices I think I'd be out of business! (And possibly murdered by an irate customer who suddenly realises that I've ripped him off big time!) Re the ladies - I don't know if women use the Mach3 blade, do they?

Bob.

Paul,

It'll be good to hear what your results are.

Another thing - I've just bought some Mach3 blades, and they don't come with an individual safety guard for each blade. Once you open a packet of four and fit one it means that this blade now has its cutting edges uncovered. This means that the blade, if sold with the razor handle, will have to be carefully wrapped before giving it to the customer. Another bloody problem - I should have stuck with pens!

Bob.

Hi Nigel
I can't vouch for any others (didn't know Dan sells them tbh) but mine came from Vince at Turners Workshop and he sells stands and brush heads as well

Amazing your original request for help with pricing has resulted for me thinking at least double my cost if I was feeling the water in this case I would make some as presents photograph them as samples then you have lost nothing had fun if your to get serious I followed the Neep site and learned a great deal about the possibilities and the many wrinkles or special tips that can be gained from his display and techniques any guessing on the turnover for him is water under the bridge. His work is superb his outlay great.

Peter.

Peter.... turnover of Mach3 razors isn't going to set the world on fire. I have made and sold perhaps 30 of them over several years at around £30. They sell better as part of a set with a stand, because that hits the gift market better when people search for them on the internet. Its really all about "added value" and uniqueness of the total package.

Yes, a Mach3 razor could be sold more cheaply, but it really boils down to how much one is prepared to work for, including packaging, dealing with invoicing, emails, trips to the Post Office, overheads, etc. Which takes more time/cost than making the razor :)

Cheers
Rod
