When you mention an iconic poplar, was it grey poplar or a tall Lombardy poplar?

Well I always thought they were white poplars, but Poplar Alba anyway. Not the best choice of wood to turn as you may know.

This is a beauty Phil, and nice story behind it my friend .. And regarding that what you say about posting pictures, it is a shame not to show the quality of your turnings .. :thumbs:
