Roman Harvest. Gold plated with Rhodium plated accents and with a Snakewood jacket. The blank was kindly gifted by Richard (L200arg). Whilst assembling I dropped one of the little trim rings from the bottom of the cap assembly and it has taken 2 days of sifting through the shavings to find the bl@@y thing .:vangry:

As I didn't want a full gloss finish I just sanded to 600grit sealed with BLO and finished with microcrystaline wax.

That is Gorgeous Ed!, I like the finish, the wood, the kit, all of it Every time I see a Roman Harvest I mean to make one as I've got two in the shed. You might have just inspired me. I feel for you with the shavings, I dropped a slimline one in mine the other day and spent ages looking for it instead of just leaving it... some things I just gotta get back even though it was mostly knackered and I've got a bunch of them.

Back to your pen, I like the straight sides and its good you put this up because I might just have made them bowed, but won't now.

It was more of an experiment Keith .. just seeing how little one can get away with regarding finishing. If it doesn't stand up to wear and tear then I'll do my usual BLO/CA technique on it it.

Wow, I'm impressed Woody that you can see that my workshop needs tidying... well tidying is a bit of an understatement. But I'd rather be making than tidying.

Very nice, Ed - looks brill!

Sigh - if only they made a cap-able version of this kit - sigh.

Bob.

I think the problem is Bob the cap weighs as much as the barrel and the whole assemblage becomes totally unbalanced when the cap is posted ,which doesn't make for a comfortable writing experience. I think the RH is just for looking at and not for using.

Yes, I think you're right, Ed!
