Hi Peter,
Really nice pen and photo, something for me to aspire to.

What about a few tips on taking pictures of pens....

I am at the "using camera on phone and putting pen on kitchen paper" stage.

Regards
Ivor

I would change the kitchen towel for A4 photocopy paper as it would be less distracting. Overall, your exposure of the laburnum pens doesn't look horrific and with ever so slight adjustment you could enhance the entire image. What are you using for a light source? The shadows are a bit to much, but shadow is your friend it adds depth to your image, you just need to soften and reduce them, there are several techniques I use, but they may be no good to you depending on your light source and what you have available. I would start by changing the paper towel and keep everything else the same, you don't really want to do it all in one jump unless you want to go the whole hog and get a setup.

Hi Peter,
Thanks.
It seems a bit obvious but Ihad not thought of using photocopy paper.
I balanced everything on the wheelie bin outside and used the sun for light source, there were a few clouds but I took previous picture in bright sun.
Maybe I should has stood more to the front.
This is another attempt. cloudy today so just on kitchen table with flash..

I think it is probably better to open a thread for this or take it to your original thread with the laburnum pens. Sorry I am prepping dindins so it will be way later.
Is this with a camera and flash or your phone with simulated flash?
