Seeing the barrel and glue through the acrylic

Richard, interesting, never heard of either of these products but then again never been looking for them. Sounds as if the brass black chemically etches the tube? Is the process suitable for using as a primer to take a car acrylic spray which I find good but susceptible to scratching off when you insert the tube?
The etched brass tube doesn't scratch as easily as a painted tube. Of course, this method works for covering the tube in black.

So I have a choice of using the brass as is, using a white colored tube, making it black with the chemical etching, or painting the tube and the inside of the drilled blank with other colors with acrylic paint.
