I'm not sure what this thing is or what it does but it looks so good that I'd love to make one that looked "Exactly" like it. Well done Walter :thumbs::thumbs:

Thanks for all your kind comments chaps, it was a nice simple piece to turn even without bushes. Both ends the same size and just a simple curve. These do lend themselves to a bit of onnamentation in the way of coves and beads etc. but I wanted to show off the wood without any distractions.

They are beautiful....what is the finish, it certainly accentuates the wood...?!

The finish is CA (cyanoacrylate/superglue) There are lots of videos of how to do it on YouTube.

Oh! and I wrote an article about it in the last issue of Woodturning magazine (March 2015 Issue No 277) but it much easier to see how to do it from a video.
