Had a little more workshop time this afternoon. I've got loads of flat work to do, but I'm still officially on holiday!

Sierra in a Rosewood blank from Lons.

I found a piece of Teak that had a little bit of interest in it, and used it on a Jr Gent.

Nice to just poddle about now and again!

Thank you for the lovely comments guys.
It's nice to make some stuff just for the hell of it.

Peter.
I'm back at the school on Tuesday but the flat stuff there will have to wait. The bloody table saw broke down just before next school years project wood arrived!

The "new" people that the "new" business manager called in to fix it took the motor away then quoted nearly £800 to replace it. I put the school in touch with another company who quoted £400. As the motor comes in at just under £300, I thought that quite reasonable.
Trouble is, the original cowboys still have the motor, with pulley attached!
Let battle commence!
I went part time at the School last year, and 2 days a week work in my home workshop. This is the stuff that I now need to work to deadlines, but I'm a lot happier!

Alison strongly dislikes the Sierras I bought from Dan, as she thinks they are too blingy!
Can't wait to see her face when she sees the Empress kits I bought from Woody:funny::funny:

Thanks again guys.
Seems like I'm having a run of bad look though.
I made this one and sanded the ends by putting a transfer punch in the tailstock of the Record Maxi 2, as usual.

Silky Oak_640x130.jpg

The fit at the ends is bloody awful!

So I mounted a bowl blank and trued it up. I know I trued it up but apparently the lathe didn't agree.:vangry:
Took a cut one way and all seemed okay. Took a cut the other, and the gouge was bouncing all over the place:vangry::vangry:
Any attempt at cutting a spigot was met with a bounce that Zebedee would be proud of!:vangry::vangry::vangry:
Seems I will get chance to experience Records new improved after sales service, when I ring them on Tuesday!
I'm led to believe that a very loud alarm goes off at the mention of the name Lawton.:funny:
