If it was as cheap as chips then , what have we done to our supply now to make it so expensive, cant have chopped down all the trees for pens surely and it is not listed as a threatened species according to the wood data base

You tell me most pen blanks were very cheep but there are more penturners now so demand and greed have pushed the price up in the last few years

Quite sad really, but this is the world we live in ,
Greed is now the main drive in a lot of people , I have found this out unfortunately in my workplace, it is not just financial greed but a need to be at the top of the chain regardless of who they step on to get there.
I have 5 years , 5 months and one day to go , then retire :love_it:

Just wish I could go now and enjoy my hobby woodturning :love_it:

Pen blanks then come in packs of 10 for your 7 groats LOL they averaged from under £2 to about £5 a pack but now as you well know they are sold individually

Dead right, I've been grubbing about in the dark spider ridden corners of my workshop (garage) and found 2 x 10 packs of Kingwood, 1 x 10 pack Ebony, and another 10 pack where the label is missing. All from Craft Supplies many, many moons ago, just over £3 a pack.

Also found some perfume kits, about 8 slim kits, and a pack of 5 which I think are what is called Euro kits, again all from Craft Supplies. Another find was some sand glasses for sand timers, 9 x 38mm watch faces, 10 Oval watch faces, and a few square ones. Also some hinge rings for making boxes.

Jeez, half this stuff I didn't know I had, and what's worse is I don't remember buying some of it.

Said in an earlier thread about best place to buy kits, don't think I'll bother for now and just use the stuff I have until the weather gets better. Then I want to have a go at some casting, so will be back with loads more questions.:winking:
