Oh dear have I upset the apple cart already?
Shall I annoy you further?
I have those adapters in my drawer redundant now as I gave the lathes away but kept the chucks.
Which one do you want If I don't have it Neil will as he had the Myford from me 1" x 12 tpi Headstock Spindle Adapter.
And Woody's Yankee twisted crook mate had the mini lathe 3/4" x 16 tpi Headstock Spindle Adapter.
Kept the adapters in case future need but never have so far.
Now then which drawer which shed? Where did I put them is it time for my afternoon nap yet? Are you my new nurse?

Looking at the Axminster adapters there seems to be enough meat and quite a length of metal to adapt threads from one to another since each thread only needs to run 1/2 way through to work perfectly unlike metal lathes desperate to hold a through hole size. For pens using a mandrel its quite small. My problem out here is I use what was a standard 1 inch 10 threads for a few pieces of equipment before we went metric then I had an adapter made to enable me to use any of my Hercus metal lathe chucks on my Wood Lathes at
a University workshop. Anyone using a Taig lathe can buy real cheap threaded couplings that can be used for whatever you choose up in size one end from the 3/4 inch. I used a Vicmarc Adapter for my step up from the 1 inch to the Hercus thread as they are precision cut as I presume Axminsters Are same rule applies. Peter. I noticed the last comments I made while I was typing two or three others sent in answers looked like I was copying them partly, not so.

Kind regards, Peter.

Jim exactly what is it you want ? I see so many dimensions here now I am confused.
Could you start again for a confused Grumpy old git.
Please be precise with male and female dimensions.
I have a contact who used to work for me years ago, he now has his own Engineering workshop and may accept to do one for me.
He also may not, or price himself out of the market but if I am sure of what I am asking for it would help.

Brian, the adapter is to fit my lathe which has a spindle thread of 1 1/4" 8TPI RH and in the very near future i will be wanting an adapter for a Sorby Patriot Chuck so that it will fit a spindle thread of M33 x 3.5 RH .. It would be great if you could source an engineer, i will pay all the costs Brian ... :bwink:

Now that bloke can really cause havoc, even when he isn't here ... :funny:

Let me see if I have this right you need a 1.1/4" x 8 internal to fit your spindle and a 33mm x 3.5 external to fit the chuck yes?
If so I can ask the question and let you know the answer.
If I am wrong let me know asap before I ask tomorrow.
