Hi.
Those of you who read my "Introduce Yourself" will know that whilst I make pens from kits using acrylics I particularly like making pens from other materials. Now that I am getting back into the hobby after a bit of a layoff I am posting some photos of pens made by me a couple of years ago.
Having made the Golf Shaft pen for a friend, based on Brendan Wong's idea on IAP, I looked around for an idea to make a pen and pencil set for my eldest son. As he loves working on old cars I wanted to make something appropriate. I came across Steven Jackson's web site Skiprat Pens - Home Page and from there found his Youtube video of making a pen from a bolt.
I liked the idea very much and thought that I could tweak it slightly. The result is a pen and pencil set made from stainless bolts using an Atrax kit and a Toolbox / Artist pencil kit. Twist the bolt head on the pen and the tip extends, Push the bolt head in on the pencil and the mechanism operates as intended.
