The Derwent Valley light railway is now a short length of track run by volunteers in a museum setting. It used to run all around the City of York supplying Rowntree's Chocolate factory and many other large concerns with essential goods, most of it is now a network of cycle paths but I have fond memories of it running when I lived near it until 1969.
I was asked if I could make the exterior facia for an existing dial entirely in wood.
The base ring needed to be 1 1/4" thick with a finished diameter of 24 1/2" diameter. ( Yes, everything had to made in Imperial measurements!)
