As promised a short WIP on how I turned my Bangles.
I decided to make bangles from about 2 1/2" inside diameter up to 2 7/8" which should give a good range to fit most adults. Adjust this if you want to make them for children
The way that I make my bangles means that you can do it from a minimum of 1" stock with very little waste.
Take a small piece of wood slightly larger than the overall diameter of the bangle you wish to produce.
I then marked a circle larger than the diameter and cut them on the bandsaw to reduce the time turning
Drill a hole so as to fit onto a screw chuck
Mount the blank onto a screw chuck and then onto the lathe. Using some deviders mark the inside diameter you want in this case I chose 2 1/2"
Face off and using a parting chisel cut on the inside of the circle marked in the previous step making sure you keep this cut square to the face. This cut should be at least 3/4 of the way through as you will be using this to mount the bangle again later.
Start to shape the outside shape to whatever you want this is done up to the centre line of the bangle the other half will be done later
