Thanks Derek, that's the best bangle tutorial I've seen

Have to say you make it look easy but all that work near to jaws and stuff makes me nervous.

I will definitely have to give it a try though as I know SWMBO would love a couple of nice bangles.

Thanks again.

When you cut the first side just make sure that you cut in deep enough to allow for the jaws and then a bit extra. Or you could make a jam chuck when you reverse it.

Pens AND jewellery ! Once I'm set up I'll definitely be trying this , thank you Derek !
Lainey

Just for you Lainey don't tell this lot the might get jealous. I made these for my sisters

Thanks for this Derek. Now I know what to do with all the small blanks that I have. Keep up the good work and please post more of your work (preferably with how the work was completed) I am a newbie and like this site for ideas about what to turn and finishing.:winking:

Hi Derek

thanks for tutorial
do you think that when reversed you could remount on screw chuck again ?
not so close to jaws and just that final parting off
i was trying to make a bit narrower than 1"

Yes you could but may have to make a jam chuck to for the bangle to sit in rather than on so you can clean up the inside. The other way is to make the blank a lot wider and cut the inside just over the thickness of the bangle you require, then turn the outside from one end until you part off. Hope that made sense Steve.

I have just been asked how much are the bangles as one of the family wants some for her friends as Christmas presents.

Keep practising Steve if you are using my method don't over tighten the jaws as it will split them or if you are making a jam chuck don't make it too tight and use light cuts.

I am making another one at the moment I don't have any pink so am experimenting with the paints I have. To make it worse I have red but no white in the iridescent
