Is there only the one supplier of these lathes in the UK? Also it looks like you have to order them as none on stock .. Would it be cheaper to buy from Timberbits if this is the case? :nooidea:

Why bother with Vicmarc they don't seem interested in uk sales, there are plenty of good lathes available in this country without any hassle to buy

Hi Jim
Try Herramientas y Maquinaria para Madera. - TORNYFUSTA.COM in Spain. with the Euro being weak could be the right time to buy from him. He had the model i wanted in stock and carriage was not to bad.
I have had 4 vicmarc lathes, sold them to try other makes and alway went back to, what i consider to to the best on the market.

I would think it takes a bit of research Jim - If you order from a British dealer they would probably absorb the import costs, duty's and taxes and just charge delivery from the UK. If you order from abroad this may not be the case?

That is a good point Tony, i just find it strange that the UK has only one supplier, whose website is of little help and is at the top of the map .. Good for Scotland of course ..

How about driving over to spain, have a week there and bring the lathe back with you? A free holiday on the money you've saved?
