Dan,

Its horrible. It looks like a back end of the 70s cheap cracker pen. Undoubtedly it will be of a higher quality but I predict it wont sell. There is too much competition from stand alone ball points that are of a much higher quality than this looks. The market does need a good click pen but this is not it! Vertex or something in the same vein would go down well.

Think your next development should be a matching pen and pencil of some style, even better to make a full scale set with RB and FP options.

Bin this one, if nothing else on cost alone, it'll never sell at more tan £20 at a push and for that you need a £3 kit and this aint it.

Looks a bit skinny but the click needs to be provan or guaranteed like the long nose.

We need skinnier pens Peter, I have been asked so many times for slim "parker" style pens

I agree with the matching set, but that may be a while away from fruition :thinks:

But as a bulk seller and knowing the markets as well as he does then Neil may well have a point or two here..:thinks:

A worthwhile contribution by my mate John Crane an Aussie on the IAP 22/7 entitled click mechanism an inside view compares 7 click mechs naming them some observations I found details I was unaware of he says he will update later.Alongside of Ed Streets exposes this is the first step toward revealing what goes on inside pen kits where it matters, I know we like looks and clips and winders, centre bands or not bling or not these we can change or avoid.

A revelation when you see the pen kits laid out in rows the click mechs that share different kits from that reference to John Crane the best expose I have seen yet on this subject.

I repeat. The throw away pens work perfectly for years so its not cost, materials its good design or crap IMHO.

The pen looks like it would suit a smaller hand, I would need to see one in the flesh before making a final decision and again that would also depend on the mechanism as well.

Peter,

I'm afraid that I have not grasped the isue you are trying to reinforce with your posts. I found the comments from John Crane on the IAP CLICK MECHANISM an inside view - International Association of Penturners which, to be frank, I was disappointed with. It was a pictorial depiction of the contents of seven pen kits. there was no analysis of the good, bad or the ugly and the reasons why and I remain at a loss to understand the point of the post? There followed some personal rumblings from contributors as t their personal preferences but nothing ground breaking? am unconvinced that any of the mechanisms that appear the same are in fact the same, there are only so many ways even the chinese can dream of making a click mechanism and copying is an oriental past time. To assume that one mechanism is the same as another based on pictorial observation is unwise.
