Besides the two bowls in the bowl section of the forum, I have managed to cut up some burrs ready for turning a little smaller than the others I have done hope they turn out as well as those. Also managed a little work on a VE Day vase (I know a little late) and also managed to return the wire...
Thought it about time I did some turning so took a couple of hours out from doing the garden and working on another bowl which seems to be taking forever. Not sure of the wood as it is an old rough turned piece from some time ago which did not have any bark or leaves to identify it.
Finished...
Well, at last, the first from the workshop after the rebuild
An Ash bowl with a flame effect through it coloured the outside only so that it can be used for fruit or whatever someone wishes.
Now the rebuild is completed and all that is left to do is sort out the old shed wood to what can be reused and what is to be skipped.
Anyway, I had a good day today and managed to get and do some turning only if it was the outside of a bowl. Tomorrow I hope to finish it as had to stop to allow...
I needed a break from some of the little jobs in the shed and needed to get my fix of turning.
Anyway turned this little bowl from some ash and a little coloured filler. Turned this with and undercut to match the outer shape.
7" X 2"

I have scoured the internet and woodturning forums and purchased lots and lots of goodies for the lathe.
The only thing I have not purchased is wood gouges because I really have no idea what...
Not being able to get much turning done due to other projects and things I decided to get into the workshop for a good days turning for a quick break from them other buts.
Managed to produce two Ash bowls one with some nice ripple and an old knothole as well as a spalted Beech bowl.
First the...
A simple little bowl in a wood that was most pleasing to turn. The bowl is 4" x 2 1/4" and is made from the wood of the Snowdrop tree, (Halesia sp. ,possibly H. dipteria.)
It was standing dead for a year but only felled yesterday.
Spent the day making a bowl a couple of boxes and a little goblet with a captive ring. (Bowl in the Bowl section).
Box from unknown spalted wood and goblet from LV had some fun with that one.
As well as completing the earing stands I also managed to turn this bowl.
There was no way that I could get the markings on the outside to be on the top which was a shame
