I'm looking at making a pen with ebonite but I have no idea on the finish prosses also what finish should I use.
there are three finishes I'm looking at.
CA glue
Melamine
just sand with micromesh and buff with my normal buffing wheels
I'm open to any suggestions I'm just researching at the...
Epsillon in Pistachio which I had of Neil a couple of years ago with a lot of plans and ego!

Melamine users - do any of you thin it down and find it reduces the fumes?
I like the finish, I'm happy with how to use it... But even with a good mask and using it outside for the best ventilation I can get, it makes me feel sick and headachey as soon as I get the lid off.

Had to do 20 sets of razor, stands and brushes for a customer.
My normal process would have taken a week of of applying and drying.
Got some Chestnut melamine lacquer.
Price not that bad compared to the other stuff available here.
Only one outlet has in stock though.

Melamine finishes on pens.
Dissolve Melamine scraps in Acetone and using this is a beaut finish. DEclaration info from a long time maker and user. Do not proceed unless precautions are taken re fumes etc.
