Hi All,
I have made and finished 2 pen blanks, 1 is 47.5 m/m long and the other is 44 m/m long. The bore in the brass tubes is 7.47-7.5 mm.
I haven't a clue how this happened as I thought I was making a slimline. My problem now is finding a 2 piece kit like the slimline that will fit the 7.5 m/m...
After a few weeks of sketching, working out sizes and getting help and advice from the good people on the forum, I finally took the plunge today and had a go at a kitlesspen in green acrylic and Conway Stewart Ebonite. Still have to make a cap, but really enjoyed this first attenpt and quite...
I have a load of Panga Panga wood so much I don't know what to do with it it is 18mm thick but ideal for some pen blanks so this is the first of this wood.
As the title the kit is a slimline with a streamline centre band.

This is a slimline for a friend who is leaving BV Llandudno to be near his family.
It is made from a piece of timber he donated to the workshop. We're not sure of the timber, thought it might be elm but it's also like some cherry I have.
It's finished in melamine & micro polish.
Need some advice- after reading through many posts I had myself convinced to buy a pressure pot and compressor to have a go at casting, but then I read that many are casting polyester without pressure? Can I cast polyester coloured with powders without pressure pot?
I would really like to make...
Hi all
I hope someone can point me in the right direction......
One of my family friends has asked if I could make them a pen for their golfing hobby.
Knowing the individual, I don't think just replacing the standard clip with a golf club clip on a slimline pen will do, as they like a heavier...
Not the best photo as it was a bit rushed! but here's a few pens from my first week of stabilising & casting my own blanks
Any constructive criticism welcome :thinks:
I am about to try my first oak burls (a friend dropped off a bootload of wood with some nice stuff on it), but I am not sure which way I should turn it!
I have a couple of bits already separated from the trunk, and pretty dry. When turning bowls etc, what is the 'usual' way to turn it - is the...
Hi has any one had problems with the slimline pen clips breaking at the top? I have had two break and wondered if i should go for better quality to avoid complaints
Greetings!
It has been a while since my last post. I have been busy with family and a pregnant wife.
Not much time to spend in the workshop.
But still I managed to turn some pens.
This is one of my newest creations from the workshop.
A large fountain pen made of german black ebonite...
Please feel free to post your modified slimline pens here
This is not instead of where you normally post your finishes pens, it's as well as. Let's build a library of modified slimlines.
What's a modified slimline? A pen made using the tubes and mechanism, but usually closed end and often...
Hi
After making several slimline pens, I was about to order some more kits and saw streamline kits.... that look very similar?
Please could someone let me know what the difference is and if the slimline bushings are appropriate to use for streamline kits?
Any pro's/con's to either kit?
Very...
I was looking around for info on casting, and came across this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/360272370/cast-right-vertical-pen-blank-casting-system/description#
Looks pretty interesting (I think), but I have no casting experience. Any thoughts/comments?
