    Spalted Sycamore approx 10" diam and 3" deep. Finished in Danish Oil and Microcrystalline Wax.

    I should have waited and posted this after finishing, but I was excited.:whistling: 4 coats of rattle can lacquer and a couple applications of Renaissance wax.

    A TM Epsilon and a Zeta in coolibah burr + a yew slimline pencil

    Had my first go with burr pen blanks today from Aussie Burr's. Fitted to an Epsilon and a Zeta kit. 2 coats of sanding sealer then 2 coats of paste wax and a final 2 passes with a carnuba wax stick. Also managed to do a slim line pencil kit in yew. with a golfing club clip for a friend.

    Found a bit of wood

    Found this under the bench, Sycamore i think 11 inches die 2 inches high finished with carauba wax

    Just finished this piece. Polished with Carnauba wax.

    A visitor bearing gifts

    Had a visit today from Smoker (Steve) who brought me a goody bag full of stuff to help me on my way with my casting journey. I don't think that I need to bother about making any new moulds for awhile now ....Steve dropped off seven....(see pic) ! But when I do I now have a nice big sheet of HDPE...

    Advice please

    I store my bowls etc in a plastic storage box under my stairs not the driest place but not damp some of them are getting a green surface mold :thinks:. I can't under stand why its only one or two I finish them all with the same BLO and they are different woods I have cleaned them off and wax...

    My First Pen

    Hi, My first pen...not as good as others, but can only get better :-) Not sure of wood though, could bluff and say it is spalted beech! - though I stand corrected. May try another, I think I would like it shinier (I was using Carbundum wax stick, though not sure if I had applied correctly...
