She comes to the workshop with me half the time!

Change the locks:whistling:

And.... Start the way you mean to go on. Workshop and tools come first man. Get a grip before the other half does

( I'm only saying that cos my missus doesn't have access to my posts. - god I hope she doesn't! )
Jim, is there any way I can permanently block any possibility of her getting access?:thinks:

Mrs Bob comes to the workshop but only to the door and usually with a mug of coffee and a cackie the reason she does not enter is because I deliberately leave wood shavings and saw dust about the place 43 years of married bliss has taught me many things. As for the lathe I am just a beginner and can not give advice but can suggest you build your own stand as it will be more sturdy and if built as an A frame will carry more weight and have more surface area as a footprint on the floor. I built mine with 3x2 timber held it together with the help of a pocket hole jig screws and wood glue all angles for cuts where done at 10 deg on a Metabo chop saw you can see a bit of it here:-

Had the monthly meeting of my local woodturning club last night. One chap has offered to let me have a go on his CL3 and another on his AWVSL1000. Now I've just got to find time in between making pens to go over there!
