There will be a quiz on this later:winking: Good luck. Now I do not want to cause any bodily harm to anyone so do not go kicking yourself or hitting your head after you find out the answer and and say why did I not think of that???

John, you tease .... Are we there yet ...

If you figured out how the color change happens please post here and I will tell you if you are right or wrong. As I said before I will explain any blank that I make. I have no secrets to hide. I am not one that does not like to share. I posted this many times on the IAP site and there were people there that did not like when someone asks how something was done.

As to all who have seen my many pens before from various sites I know they will become boring to see again but I am trying to share with some of the new friends I made on this site. Probably after the first of the year I will start getting into some new designs. As I mentioned I have quite a few on the workbench in various stages of completion. I have a ton of new ideas that I want to try. Thanks all for looking.

John, thoughtful of you to go into detail of your proceedures. Excellent work outstanding pens.

I was waiting for the Picts and Scots and others to extol their heritage and knowledge of customs and designs?

Thanks for showing.

Kind regards Peter.

John please don't take my comments in a bad way, I may have seen them before but then I have been a nosy bugger for a long time.
Also a member of the IAP for a long time (in another name) but it is always a pleasure to view them again.
Even better the fact you explain how you did them, far from being derogatory I believe your are an inspiration to us.
Not everybody has had the good luck to have benefited from my experiences there are lots of newbies here who have never seen such work let alone how they can create it themselves.
Please don't stop showing us your wonderful creations it can only encourage creativity in our forums, I have to admit I have gone stale myself and you have got my tiny brain thinking again.

No problem whatsoever. I will continue to show some things until I am told to stop. I agree there will always be Newbies and they have not seen some of the things that can be done with such a small working area of a pen tube. The ideas are endless. I do not own a CNC machine or laser or even a metal turning lathe,so I can not do those type pens but with normal woodworking tools there still is so much that can be done. As I mentioned before there are many ways of doing just about any form of blank making. I will give my way whenever asked. I will always help in any way I can. I lost that ability on the IAP site so that is one reason for leaving. There seems to be a new found interest here. I still have not gotten much chance to search alot of the forums here and see what others are doing. I am hoping to learn as well. I continue to thank all that have looked at my work and commented.

Need to crack this any help John lol.

I have seen your other post. You are right there man. Just a bit more nudging. You really took on a challenge with the use of metals as inlay material. I would have started with something a tad bit easier. Good luck though. I am here for you.
