You really took on a challenge with the use of metals as inlay material. I would have started with something a tad bit easier. Good luck though. I am here for you.[/QUOTE]

more power to your elbow and thanks for the postings
Ian :ciggrin::ciggrin::ciggrin:

Thank you. I have quite a few more up my sleeve that I do want to try. I am getting the feeling back to get back in the shop. Some of these will be a tad challenging so not sure what to expect. In the mean time I will keep posting some past work in case there are those that have not seen them before. I do hope some of these works do inspire others to try things and as I keep saying if I can help I surely will try. Thanks again all for the kind words.

John,The more I look at it, this is more a segmented peice the knot is just the end result i dont think I can do this as a four cut cross I think I am going to have to un pick a knot blank to get the shapes i need to cut.

If you know how to do a Celtic Knot and from what you have shown already, you do. Then the other part is so simple. Like I said you will kick yourself. Now if you would like me to tell you the way I do them I will be very happy to. Just say the word. :thinks: By the way yes it is just a 4 cut process.

Hi there, You've got us all at it. I'm on my sixth attempt and still haven't got it right. You've won as far as I'm concerned. In a bid to save electricity from all our nocturnal lathe activity and stop deforestation as we bin yet another botched blank ~ please could you explain further. Thanks Fiona

Please your honour give me one more chance.

Go for it. Just one other clue. As I said it is a 4 cut procedure but you must cut all the way through the blank. You can not cut part way and just infill on this type knot. Good luck. I will be away for the rest of the day. Will check back tomorow.

Could not edit my last post so thought I would throw this in too so that you can see the entire pen of one of them. I wish I could show other pictures but I do not have these pens any more. They were sold. Again good luck.

Cooee, Old Aussie call following anything exciting especially near a place that echoes or acts as a call that carries a long way in the bush. Thanks for the fun.

Kind regards Peter.:thumbs:

Really like the way the picture spins how did you do that ?
Ian :ciggrin::ciggrin:
Take four pictures of each view save as jpg. Use a converter to gif voilà moving pics.
Do it your self in Gimp etc or use a online tool to do it for you.
Simply drag and drop your pics in here Suggest they're all the same size for a good gif.
Click me init?

Hello Fiona. You are there. Just needs refinement. Yes Doug has set up a tutorial for these and it is stated very simply and the photos are a great help. Check it out. Frankie, once again nice job.

Grumps,:thumbs: way to go sir. Love this place. I am having fun again.
