There is an indication you have run out of puff with this lathe finish the story with this one lots of people kicked in info, was it worth it.

Exactly what you've described. It wobbles about when it's turning. The three most likely causes are bent shaft, worn bearing, or dirt in the quill/mis-fiited deadcentre. The last one is easy to overcome but the other two would probably mean it is cheaper and easier to replace your lathe. I notice there is another thread from you this morning about new lathes, which I haven't read yet, but I'm guessing you've reached that conclusion too. What do you mean by a run out? The headstock circles the tailstock in not a round circle, more of an oval one...

Before you do anything to your headstock clean out the bore thoroughly and clean the dead centre to make sure that both are spotless and can seat properly, then do the same with the tailstock.

Oooh - get you, you irascible ol' buggerYes I will. You should not give up your financial control to someone else. Once the bills are paid and there is food on the table what you do with the rest of your money is your business and what she does with the rest of her money is hers. Works for us and we never ever have arguments about money and neither of us has to go begging to someone else for permission to spend our own money. Just a suggestion.

Miles' disposable income and commitment to family financial outlay is bound to be different to yours. For a start, he and his fiancee are both paying for your NHS pension!![]()
That's it Mel - you tell him too![]()
Did someone mention a new Pro Edge?
Of course in our house, penmaking equipment takes priority over almost everything else....but that's because it's our sole source of income, so if I can't make pens, we can't pay the bills....
That's why I have a new Pro Edge sitting in front of me
