Hi all,
I'm new to UK wood forum. I'm a member of wood and metal forum in Australia.
Ive been turning for about 15 years and pens for about 10.
I mostly turn Aussie timbers and plastics. I cast some of my of my own in moulds with polyester resin and also make decals. Fairly new to this. I have some great mentors where I live in Queensland, Gold Coast.
Most of my timber comes locally where I dry and mil to suit. Bit spoilt really.
Recently, a friend of mine, whom is a Calligrapher, asked me to make some oblique calligraphy dipping pens and flanges.
I said what ? I've never heard of such a thing. I missed that one .. perhaps when I was wagging School that day.
I did some internet research and didn't find much. I put up a post on Aust Wood Forum with little response until PENPAL suggested I try the UK forum. I must say I have found the posts interesting and helpful ... great work
Oh forgot .. I found A Guy in the US with Utubes ... Yoke Pen Company .. not bad.
Regards, Randal
