I will pm you about the text and if you look at the photo you should have levelled it up with the bottom edge before you did the text, so that extraneous bit at the bottom is cropped. I know this is just a start so I am being lenient:funny: You have done an almost first class job, but I know it won't be too long, perhaps by the end of the week, before you have cracked it and I can employ you, sit back and enjoy the profits:pray: From tomorrow there is no excuse for dust, get yourself a feather duster if you must, just no dust or it's rapped knuckles:funny:

Have a look at your camera settings and see if you have got auto iso switched on and if you have, turn it off, the grain in the shadows is quite noticeable although that may be endemic with your sensor.

Peter

All points duly noted Peter. The ISO is set at 100 and as far as the dust goes that glass was cleaned and polished just prior to taking the photos but yes I agree it can be seen.
Thanks for the pointers though and I am determined to get there !!!:thumbs:

I couldn't resist a little play Terry. Its a bit busy but I've added a bit of shadow to give the text some depth.

I use white cotton gloves and they work wonders with dust and for not getting fingerprints on the blank and pen parts, not that I have ever seen any on yours, but if it is there in the photo then you have to get rid of it in photoshop speck by speck.

The shadow is better, but the text is still too flat, it needs some embossing to give it some depth and luxury.

It's one of the easiest tasks photoshop can do, although I have forgotten what Elements is capable of, but I would be surprised if it can't. I can send you some gloves if you want some.

If you have a copy of the pen without the text then PM it to me and I will do a couple of things and PM it back to you.

Don't worry, next time you take another shot send me a copy without text and tell me what you want it to say, but I draw the line in writing Yank and saying it is dressed in whatever, next you will be posting photos and saying "enjoy!".

I have your address so will get some gloves in the post, probably Friday.

Terry, I am grateful that you have shown us your pen the presentation is superb the pen would hold its own in any company later today everything willing I hope to complete some pens after quite a break enforced by sheer pressures from all directions. When I share my pens a proficiency in advanced computer techniques is the furthest thought from my mind, no doubt you will stir the advancement of images.

The dark background is superb and the placement of the pen and parts to be highly commended, reflecting on all our past experiences in turning, presentation and sharing the forum is changing I look forward to the new frontiers, thanks for showing one of them.

Kind regards Peter.:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

It seems to have broken up the edges of the text, perhaps it needs to be in bold to hold the edge or a different font.
