I'm afraid Ed has put out the wrong information. With respect Ed it's 6.5x0.5 not 6.4

The correct taps will be here in a few days.

Yep, sorry Phil, you are right.

I have an old Bock tap that is 6.4 X .6 which is the #5 nib (if I remember rightly) I also have an old 6.5x.5 as well. Checked sizes and i have it down as th 6.5x.5. Just shows that checking sizes should be done rather than checking the tap and die box.

Not done any for a ling, long time, with all this "revival" going on I will have to make some time me thinks..:bwink:

6.5-0.5 -vs- 6.4-0.5.

Both taps will work correctly with the product. However the 6.5 may be the technically correct one you can obtain taps in either size.

Ready to rock and roll folks.

The nibs have been here for a few days, but I've been waiting for the taps. They should be here later today, and if not, Monday at the latest. So if you order I should be able to despatch on Monday I hope.

I've also put some clips on line, of which I've had new stock, with some more styles arriving later in the month.

Any problems or queries - just give me a shout. I'm happy to help.

Old Australian saying Cooee one uses in a situation of admiration or exclamation especially testing out an echo. All the best making and using these pens I am always grateful when any pen writes freely with no complications and admire the makers of other pens.

Peter.

Well the taps didn't arrive on Friday, but they DID arrive today, so all orders received up to about 2 pm today the refillable rollerball nibs and /or thread taps went out today. If you are one of them, and I know that some of you don't post that often on the forum, you will have received an automated email in any case. If your order arrived after then it will go out tomorrow.

Thanks for your orders - I look forward to the photos.

Plenty left in stock for all who want to give then a try.

I do like the idea . Up until now i have only done full kits.
Why do you need 3 taps and is there a holder for taps . Anyone know of any you tube videos showing how to make a custom pen using Refillable rollerball nibs.

For me the best way I can cut threads is on my lathe, obviously used by hand, and the taps held in my Jacobs chuck. For using dies there is this product which makes it easy to use on the lathe http://www.rdgtools.co.uk/acatalog/Die_Stocks.html

Put the search term making kit less pen into YouTube there are a few videos on the subject. Also the last two issues of Woodturning magazine have Walters tutorial on making kit less pens. Walter issued a pdf of the articles and they maybe available here, if not ask Walter
