I've only just seen this and am shocked tbh. I knew he'd been ill but not THAT ill. I knew Walter also from the York get togethers but also sometimes bumped into him at Harrogate and I'd been to his house a few years ago. Had I known I'd have gone to his funeral. I drove past the end of his street only a couple of weeks ago and if I'd had time would have knocked, it's just as well I didn't.

He will very definitely be sorely missed

Back in York now after my friend Walter's funeral in Northumberland yesterday.
Donations in leu of flowers from the just giving site and Crematorium collection presently stand at £305 for the British Heart Foundation.
