I bought this little beauty in 1971. It’s an Elliott Unimat lathe combo. It coverts from an automatic feed lathe to a pillar drill or milling table. It has 12 speeds from 155rpm to 6000rpm & has done me proud.
I have been given a (large) piece of slate. It is about 14" square (ish) and 1 1/4" thick.
I had asked if he had any broken pieces and this was the result.
I originally wanted a pen blank size piece to see if I could make a pen.

Ok got my drill chuck for my tail stock, so fixed the lathe up with drill chucks in head and tail stock and got spinning
The bullets are 180grn Sierra Matchking and the cases are .308 Sako, and then its just drilling and fettling and here is the result

I use DeWalt bullet point drills and like them a lot. I find they don't wander as easily and tend not to chip out the bottom as much.
