Why does the garden take so long to do:sob::sob::sob:. At last I have finished all of the veg patch including all the planting, tided the greenhouse and that is all planted, also tide back all the raspberry plants and tided the fruit cage and cut all around most of the other fruit trees. Still have all the flower beds to do. With a bit of luck I will get into the shed as I need to turn a fountain pen along with rough turn some of the Ash to help dry it a little quicker.
I am totally knackered now that I have done too much, when will I learn:winking:

Some of the Stash I picked up on Saturday. The shorter lengths of Burl in Red Mallee etc my mate cuts as he goes for other items keeps a profile and docks these at the same time. He has a thousand or two offerd them to me for a dollar each I bought ten he had nearly a ton of other burl cut for table knife handles etc plus the others. The excess ton his mate said we need more handles and so he got the ton of red Mallee in cut it up and found in his stash another ton already cut up. He has a huge stash and some sheds on his farm property out of town.:thumbs:

Peter.

He ought to come on here selling that Red Mallee Peter .. :love_it:

What with the import export bothers and real costs Jim I wonder you get any timber from over here at all it always amazes me how cheap it is when I see it advertised over your way. Still grass is always greener mate.

Managed some shed time today this morning I made a start on cleaning up the pressure pot that I brought and the lid seems to be made of either brass or bronze which I found unusual. I did this as we had the great-grandson here who was quite content with a bowl of water an old paint brush and the valve from the pot, it did not end up any cleaner but he was happy helping me:banana:.

Once he had left after spending nearly 2 hour washing the valve I managed to get the chainsaw out and cut the wood I brought into blank size pieces, cutting around some of the splits (OK I forgot to seal the ends when I got home:goesred::goesred::goesred:).

I still managed to get quite a bit out of it and where it split I cut it down the split leaving enough wood either side to make at least 6 or 7 lidded boxes so no waste in the end.
All the pieces for making bowls were then cut to near round on the bandsaw followed by sealing them and storing them.
So all in all a good day in the shed followed by watering all the veg patch and greenhouse.

Yet another day spent cutting some other wood that I have stored in log for this time what I believe to be Holly. Then the chainsaw broke looks like time to save some pennies to buy a new one. I still have a few bits to cut into blanks should have done it ages ago. I am running out of room to store them so may have to re-arrange the wood shed to get more into it.
